Could someone please point me in the direction of some reference material on OS/2? I would like to know how the various layers of the system interact,eg. hardware -> firmware(bios) -> OS -> applications, how well the systems is protected etc. Anything at all would be of value. I'm not quite sure what sort of reference material is sought, but in the past two months a fair bit of 'in-depth' stuff has been written about it in various magazines. Most notably, the November issue of PC Tech Journal seems to be entirely devoted to OS/2. I've seen also articles in PC Magazine, and the December issue of Dr. Dobb's has something on it, too.

I don't know if this helps but.... Computer Language (Dec.-87) magazine has an excellent write up on OS/2 from an individual who acted as a beta site. The article gives a broad overview of how OS/2 works and OS/2's function calls. Also, I understand that the OS/2 software developers kit is out even though OS/2 itself isn't. Rich W.
