I've acquired a Mouse Systems PC Mouse (bus version), and I'd like to make it grab and stuff text in the same way the mouse does it under Suntools: namely, the left button selects the start of text, middle the end, and right stuffs it into the input. Has anyone seen software that does this? I reflexively reach for my mouse when I have repetitive but slightly-different commands or text-lines to type in, and of course it doesn't do what I want. I'm utterly ignorant of PC device drivers under DOS, so I'd have a hard time writing my own, but I'll settle even for some tips on how to go about it. Thanks, Mark. You should be able to map the mouse buttons into the "start copy to x," "end copy to x," and "invoke x" functions. -- George Snyder -- Intermetrics, Inc. -- gjs@inmet --

DESQview has a mark and transfer facility that will grab text into a buffer and allow you to transfer it to another window or elsewhere in the same window. Unfortunately it only uses the left button 8-). Joe Gardina @ Bell Communications Research Inc. -- <EOT>
