I'm looking for any comments regarding hardware debuggers for the IBMPC family of computers (AT,XT,clones,etc.). So far I've heard some things about the ATRON debugger and some on the PERISCOPE. I am interested in finding out more information on these or any others that should be conisidered for purchase. If anyone has any information regarding this, please post or send mail. -- Paul Palacios UUCP: {cbosgd, hplabs!hp-sdd, sdcsvax, nosc}!crash!portnoy!paul POBox 842,(CA) INET: paul@portnoy.cts.com VOICE: wk:(619)458-0230 Bonita, 92002 ARPA: crash!portnoy!paul@nosc.mil hm:(619)420-5776

Some of the user interface is a bit clunky...you have to type a '.' (period) at the start of each symbol name. I've never used their source option. But it helped me debug some TSR programs that I probably never would have been able to debug any other way. I think they only claim it to work with certain systems, for instance real IBM computers, and Compaq's. It *doesn't* work in the Everex AT clone, which my company has very many of, so we have to use it in our one true IBM PC/AT. -- - john romkey ...harvard!spdcc!kaos!romkey romkey@kaos.uucp romkey@xx.lcs.mit.edu
