We have several copies of Personal Editor II, and would like to purchase some more. It used to be sold by IBM as part of their "Personal Software Series" (i.e., we didn't write it, don't support it, and the only documentation is on the disk, but we'll take money for it), but IBM now disclaims any knowledge of it. It was originally written by Jim Wyllie. Does anyone know where we can purchase more copies, or could someone put me in touch with Jim Wyllie? PE2 is kind of like BRIEF, except not nearly as big, not quite as powerful, and a whole lot faster. --- * Origin: * Excalibur * Gomorrah-by-the-Flatirons * 303-497-6051 (Opus 1:104/39) SEEN-BY: 104/39 56 -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- via FidoNet 104/56 Mile Hi Tech (303-973-9338) uucp: ...!{hao|isis}!scicom!milehi!oscar

I tried to find PE II and the response I received from IBM was NO, sorry but we don't offer the Personal Software Series anymore - Perhaps your local retailer or computer store has some. I would love to get a copy ---- hint hint!! > Does anyone know where we can purchase more copies, or could someone > put me in touch with Jim Wyllie? I asked how to get in touch with Jim and was told that IBM did not sanction direct contact between the general public and employees. This of course is my recollection of their statement which is probably distorted, but what the hey. IBM has sold off their Personally Developed Software division (which sold PE2 and other good stuff) to the following company: PDS Incorporated P.O. Box 3280 Wallingford, CT 06494 They still sell PE2, but the impression I got from their literature is that after their current inventory runs out, they won't sell it any more. If this is true, it's a sad thing. PE2 is a very fine editor at a very low price ($50).
