I'm looking for anyone's experience with Ginsu-level AT Clones;
specifically, Osicom and Fountain. If anyone has another to
recommend or a place to get it from please let me know. By the way,
has anyone had experience with S&W Computers in NYC? Thanks.

I bought my Video-7 VEGA Deluxe from them. They advertise low prices, but
watch out: they charge more than any other outfit I've seen for shipping and
handling - enough so to make me believe that they use it as an additional
profit generator. They charged me $30 to send the thing UPS Blue, and then
didn't send it that way! It took me two months and several letters and phone
calls to get them to refund the extra charge - and they only refunded $15 of
that. $15 for shipping and handling a single, half-card-sized purchase (the
shipping charge was all of $2.65) is a ripoff. I wouldn't be surprised to
hear that they charge $50-70 for S&H of a computer...

Yes, I have bought two Epson printers from S&W in the past six
weeks. Both were delivered within one week of my telephone order,
and worked correctly out of the box.

A word of caution, however. Know what you're buying! When I
ordered an Epson EX-1000, I asked the salesman if the tractor-feed
was included. He told me it was a $59 option. When the printer
arrived, it became very obvious that the tractor feed, on that
model, is built-in, and is not optional. I called S & W and
complained that I should not have been charged extra for it, and
they agreed to credit the charge-card account I'd used when paying
for it. Assuming the credit shows up eventually, I have no
complaints at all about S & W, but next time, I'll do my homework
before calling them.
