As you probably know by now, I have posted the much asked for document file on Kermit, version 2.29C, third edition, dated December 16, 1987. It was sent out in seven parts. Since someone asked about source code, I looked on cu20b.columbia.edu, the Columbia machine and found it. I downloaded it and assembled and linked it. It turned out to be version 2.29, dated May 26, 1986. I suspect that they have not yet posted the source code for the latest version. Perhaps they have not because they hope to replace it soon with version 2.30. If you like, I will put it on a disk for you. Send me a disk and I will put the source code on it. There is 731980 bytes of source code! But when I archive it, it gets down to 273249 bytes. By the way, it is considered bad practice to use binary compression on text files when posting. As I understand it, many news-handling machines do compression on text already. But this is not available when the file is uuencoded. So it saves space *not* to compress. This is why I didn't use ARC when posting the Kermit document.
