I recently purchased a TEAC 3 1/2 in 1.44 meg drive from a dealer, and
installed it into my ACER 1100 ('386 machine) as drive B:. Does any one have
any experience with these newer 3 1/2 drives? I was told that I need to
purchase some driver software that will let me format as well as reading
720K/1.44M diskettes. Any clue to where I can purchase such software?
BTW, I put the line "drivparms=/d:1 /f:2" into config.sys and when I try
to read a 720K diskette it gave me a "Drive not ready error", any clue
to this? I was also told that MSDOS 3.3 does support the 1.44M format,
is this true? Any pointer you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
