#N:uokvax:4000019:000:1207 uokvax!russ Apr 6 13:41:00 1984 I have been trying to compile a list of Jethro Tull's albums (being a diehard fan) and I would appreciate it if someone could verify my list or let me know if I missed any albums. The editorial comments are my own; the albums without comments are ones that I have not listened to very much. Please post any additions to the net or mail to ...ctvax!uokvax!russ. Thanks. One must not forget about the few albums put out by Blodwyn Pig. This group got together around 1969-1970 with Mick Abrahams, who was on the Tull albums "This Was" and "Stand Up". The 5th edition of Hamilton's Record Album Price Guide (a must for ALL rock collectors) lists these albums with the years of issue. I haven't heard anything by Blodwyn Pig, but I have seen a few albums and they have a lineup similar to Tull (flute, etc.). Scott Abbot hocda!sra or mvuxa!sa

#R:uokvax:4000019:ctvax:39000009:000:445 ctvax!rob Apr 16 10:41:00 1984 I believe Mick also formed the Mick Abrahams Band. The last I heard he was reduced to doing "How to Play Rock Guitar" records. Too bad, he did a great version of Cat Squirrel with Tull, and he and Andersen were always ribbing each other on stage. After he left, Jethro Tull became the Ian Andersen Band in my opinion (but what do I know?) Rob Spray uucp: ... {decvax!cornell!|ucbvax!nbires!|{allegra|ihnp4}!convex!}ctvax!rob

A college friend of mine suggests that "M.U." means "Minstrel Unincluded" -- that first "best of" album contains no numbers from "Minstrel in the Gallery", although it could have. Next guess?

#R:uokvax:4000019:uokvax:4000021:000:510 uokvax!russ Apr 19 15:18:00 1984 Many people were kind enough to inform me that there is a mistake on my list of Jethro Tull albums. 'Stand Up' is their second album and was released in 1969. I was confused about this because on my copy of the album, the copyright date on the cover is listed as 1973 and I used this date to order the albums. I would like to thank everyone who replied to my note for setting me straight on this. just "Skating away on the thin ice of the new day" Russell Spence ..ctvax!uokvax!russ

#R:uokvax:4000019:inmet:6600126:000:287 inmet!andrew Apr 21 14:20:00 1984 "Stand Up" was the SECOND Tull album ('69), not the sixth. The original issue on Chrysalis had a novel cover with a stand-up figure inside; the Reprise re-issue (which may be where you got '73 from) does not. Andrew W.
