-->One of the secretaries in our office can't get her PC going. When she -->turns on the computer, it goes through its usual self-test. Then the -->screen displays --> -->"2020 201" --> -->in the upper corner for about .5 sec, and the clears and displays --> -->"Parity Check 1" --> -->indefinitely. The disk drive also coughs for about .5 sec. She can't -->get any disks to boot, not even Diagnostics. --> -->Any Clues? I'd GREATLY appreciate some. My supervisor is getting kinda -->tired of increasing maintenance/repair costs that my office is building up. --> -->S. Vasudevan -->svv@cory.berkeley.edu This sounds like the memory check test. Does it do this after going through all the memory? Jeff Urlwin {rutgers!bellcore}!mrevox!jlu UUCP jurlwin@colgateu BITNET

201 is the memory test failure number, and 2020 is the chip number. If memory serves, that's row 2, bit 5. -- Peter Holsberg UUCP: {rutgers!}princeton!mccc!pjh Technology Division CompuServe: 70240,334 Mercer College GEnie: PJHOLSBERG Trenton, NJ 08690 Voice: 1-609-586-4800
