I just installed a 3 1/2 inch drive on my AT&T PC6300 in location B. Then I found that for it to run successfully under MS-DOS 2.11 I need a "third party software driver". The store that sold me the drive did not know where to get one. Does anyone? The store wants me to go to MS-DOS 3.2 which I may have to do but I want to avoid for two reasons. (1) I use two other PCs which are on 2.11 and I want to keep all PCs on the same standard which will have to be 2.11. (2) Migration to 3.2 is is supposed to require that I dump my hard disk, reformat it, and then restore it, and this is a messy job that I would prefer to avoid. Does anyone have a 3 1/2 inch drive working successfully on 2.11? Ed Gauss ...!ihnp4!houxa!egauss (201)949-2632 AT&T Network Systems 4L-327 Crawford Corners Road Holmdel, NJ 07733

It was written by: DATADISK 505-579-4496 P.O.Box 15313 Santa Fe, New Mexico 87506 The driver can be patched to support just about any kind of floppy drive; then you mention it in your CONFIG.SYS file. Also included is a disk formatting program, because DOS FORMAT below 3.2 won't work on your new drive (I'll bet the store didn't tell you that either). This is a one man operation; he was very helpful over the phone getting my patches to work. If he's gone out of business, try FLOPPY DISK SYSTEMS, which sold me the driver along with the 3.5" disk drive. They advertise in the back of several PC magazines. -- George Snyder -- Intermetrics, Inc. -- gjs@inmet --
