[comp.sys.ibm.pc] WHOLE EARTH TURBO XT

I am interested in buying a Whole Earth clone offered at a shockingly good low
price. For $850 (price as of mid-December), their Turbo XT has a 10mHz clock
using an 8088-1, 640Kb RAM, a lovely monitor, Hercules clone card, Fujitsu
630Kb floppy, 20Mb hard disk (Miniscribe 3425 or Seagate St225 65MS access
time), 150 watts power supply, and an ERSO BIOS. For my very basic spreadsheet,
VT100 emulation, and wordprocessing needs, it is ideal. I already own PC
software and can afford little more than the $850 the unit sells for.

If anyone have dealt with Whole Earth or the aforementioned component brands, I
would appreciate input. I know one Whole Earth Turbo XT owner and am familiar
with his computer; though it came with improperly seated cables and a defective
CPU, customer service was superbly quick and it has since performed flawlessly.
But at that price, should I be wary? Thanks in advance for answers.
