we have two serial cabling problems: we have several okidata 182 plus printers with serial interfaces ( both high speed and regular serial interfaces ). (1) we are trying to connect them to a 386 machine running sco xenix 2.2.1 with a digiboard com/8s multiserial port. we have been able to get them going using the xon/xoff protocol, but we wish to set them up using a more robust hardware protocol using DTR, CTS and/or RTS lines. Any experience with cable wiring and stty set up? (2) we have some wyse50 terminals and wish to connect some of the above printers as local printers to the auxiliary ports of the wyse 50s. Any experience with the cable wiring? I appreciate hearing about your experiences on the above problems. please replay directly to: farhad@usc.corwin.edu thanx (oxymoron: RS232 standard)
