Hi ! Some time ago, I had posted a request for help with IBM-AT cold boot problem. I would like to thank Jim Mills (@ncsuvx.ncsu.edu), Tim Margeson (@tekigm2.tek.com), E. Vogt (@mitre-bedford.arpa), and Thomas Hundt (@wind.bellcore.com) for their response. We ended up replacing the hard disk. Everything works ok now. A friend of mine is planning to purchase a LEADING EDGE Model D2 computer. It has an 80286 cpu (6-8-10Mhz), 640K RAM, built in MGA, CGA and EGA adapter, 30 Mb hard disk and runs for about $2000 with an EGA monitor. Does anyone have any recommendation for this purchase ? Any feedback on reliability and compatibility ? SUNIL ~~~~~

The price is good, the machine well-built, and the guarantee is about the best I've seen. One problem with Leading Edge that might affect your friend (it did mine): the Leading Edge company makes a habit of alienating its dealers with some rather (for the industry) unusual demands like requiring payment for the machines before shipping them, etc. What this meant to my friend was that he couldn't just plunk his cash down & get the PC, but he had to place a down- payment (10-25%) then wait a few weeks to receive the machine. This might not apply in this case, but I did want to pass it along. Kurt Arthur Software Services of Florida, Inc.
