There is a bug in the MSC 5.0 compiler involving the "-Gt" switch.
This switch is used for compact- and large-model programs to
indicate how large a data object must be before it is placed
in its own segment. This is useful when a large amount of
stack space is required, for example. When the switch is set
to 0, all data objects are given a new segment, which leaves
the default segment for use by the stack and near heap.
Well, it doesn't work. Apparently there is an official Microsoft
patch, and I would appreciate it if anyone who has managed to get
this patch from Microsoft would send me a uuencoded copy of it.
Or post it.
I have also noticed that some Microsoft people have started to
respond to complaints and questions about Microsoft products
which have been posted to this group (most recently concerning
Windows 2.0). I would like to ask them how many other known
bugs (and patches) exist, and why don't you post them?
