There is a bug in the MSC 5.0 compiler involving the "-Gt" switch. This switch is used for compact- and large-model programs to indicate how large a data object must be before it is placed in its own segment. This is useful when a large amount of stack space is required, for example. When the switch is set to 0, all data objects are given a new segment, which leaves the default segment for use by the stack and near heap. Well, it doesn't work. Apparently there is an official Microsoft patch, and I would appreciate it if anyone who has managed to get this patch from Microsoft would send me a uuencoded copy of it. Or post it. I have also noticed that some Microsoft people have started to respond to complaints and questions about Microsoft products which have been posted to this group (most recently concerning Windows 2.0). I would like to ask them how many other known bugs (and patches) exist, and why don't you post them? -- Mike Roper * Ice Cream...
