I have been trying to get an external drive to work on my model 50. For some mysterious reason, I can't get it to work. I tested the drive on someone else's machine and since it worked, I assumed it was a bad adapter card and I got a new one. I'm now on my third card, but still the computer won't recognize that the slot isn't empty (all slots have been tried.) IBM says they'br seen the problem, but don't really know how it's been solved by others. They suggest I get a copy of version 1.02 of their Reference Diskette and try re-configuring it with that. Has anyone experienced this problem? How do I solve it? Thanks.
