I'm using DOS 3.10 on an AT clone and frequently have difficulties with single drive COPYs, PKARC, and other file-by-file utilities. The directory of the target disk often gets trashed -- it is duplicated with the source disk's directory. Of course, the target disk does not contain the same files, necessarily, as the source, so the target disk is effectively trashed. No matter how careful I am about swapping disks only when the machine asks for them ("Insert disk into drive A: now..."), the problem persists. (Other evidence of the problem: sometimes even after changing disks a DIR shows the contents of the old disk). Any solutions? Do later versions of PC-DOS fix this? Also, does anyone know of a driver, ala GRAPHICS.COM, which will allow screen dumps and IBM character set printing on a Diablo 630 printer? (The printer has line drawing modes and can use the "." repeatedly for limited graphics.) Timothy F.
