I agree, it is reasonably nice but I have had a few problems. The
dot1040 form does not print correctly on my EPSON LQ-850 printer.
Several boxes are mis-aligned and it printed about 1 inch over the
crack in the form feed paper. I logged into their BBS system and
read a few messages that indicated others were having problems too.

Can anyone at ChipSoft comment on this? I bought the package in Dec.

Could it be a problem with the printer driver for the LQ-850? Are the other
people on the BBS claiming a problem with just the 1040 form in all cases or
with specific printers?

I just got my copy of TTax and will load it and run it this weekend. I have
a Panasonic KX-1091i which is pretty generic. I'll post the results next
week.

Cheers!

I'm using a HP Thinkjet printer and have noticed the same problems. It appears
that TTAX is mixing text and graphics in the same printout and the font
spacing is not exactly right.

Sorry, but an HP Thinkjet is *not* capable of properly handling Epson
graphics, no matter WHAT HP may say. From experimenting with one at work,
it appears that in graphics mode it uses a horizontal "dot spacing" about
3/4ths that of an Epson. This makes it unsuitable for pure graphics
applications as the graphics are "squashed". It is *totally* unusable for
any application which mixes text and graphics.

If you need Epson compatibility buy an EPSON. Or write a program that will
test *everything*. We almost bought an "epson compatible" laser printer.
Luckily I had some test files. It turned out to be "IBM compatible" (it
thought any graphics modes higher than 3 were 3, since we needed mode 6
it didn't get bought. And the vendor who insisted that it was 100% Epson
compatible is not trusted anymore...)
