[ ** ] I just received my newest toy, a Toshiba T100 laptop. I thought the net might be interested in a short review. 512K Ram 4.77 Mhz clock. Supertwist screen, aspect ratio about 3.1:1 1 3.5 720K drive In short, a very usable machine, but considering its price (~$800) there is no competition. It is slow, but that save on battery. The screen is very readable even with no back light. There is a modem option but at $300 bills I opted for the Everex pocket modem (~$120) that runs on 9v battery. The memory option is a 768K EMS card that can be split into a NON-VOLATILE ram drive. It costs $300 so I didn't get it, but now I think it might be worth it. DOS 2.11 lives in ROM, so along with that and the memory card, it will more than make up for not having 2 drives. YOur first, second, and third impression will be 'Boy, is it SMALL'! The machine weighs a little over 6 lbs and fits into most any breifcase. For you accountant types there is a numeric keypad input ($99). Speaking of the keyboard it is better than typing on a Taiwan clone, and you don't feel too cramped. I worked last night about 4 hours on it, and went to bed without a headache or eyestrain. Enough of my commentary. Has anyone else tried this beast? I find it hard to think of purchasing any other laptop considering the price/perf. ratio of this little guy. -owen -- Owen Adair, WD4FSU Digital Signal Processing Lab, Georgia Tech, Atlanta GA 30332 Internet: owen%gteedsp@gatech.gatech.edu uucp: ...!{decvax,hplabs,ihnp4,linus,rutgers,seismo}!gatech!gt-eedsp!owen
