I think that there is one thing we all have to bear in mind. No matter what system we use (as software developers/distributers/etc), there will always be those people who will abuse this system in some way. I personally feel that shareware does have its place in the software world. It may not be the best way to make money at software development, but then, not everyone is in the business to become millionaires. I don't like it when people start flaming other people for using shareware as their method of distribution. I have seen it work...and work well. Many of the shareware products are quite good, and are worth the money. Others are not, and therefore do not go over well. Shareware is the free market in action....the best products get the sales...the worst products don't. Re-shrink wrapping products is another example of good supplier/customer relations. I feel that places that offer such an opportunity to test the software and return it (if it's not what you thought it was), are providing a beneficial service, and are worth frequenting. But as I said before, there will always be those who will abuse the systems. +-----------------------------------------------------------------+ | Paul W Totten It's OK... | | pwtotten@orchid I'm with THE band! | +-----------------------------------------------------------------+ set Disclaimer = (I'm just a student here.....obviously these opinions are only my own)
