[comp.sys.ibm.pc] MicroEmacs

darren@ethos.UUCP (Darren Friedlein) (01/08/87)

Can anyone send me/post a list of the commands for MicroEMACS? When I got
it, there was a file called commands.doc that helped some, but was rather
hard to understand. It talked about the buffer commands, but didn't
explain them. In particular, I need info. on how to block off text and
delete/copy that text. Can anyone help?

(I know that this message might belong in one of the EMACS newsgroups,
but since the re-arangement, I'm not sure where anything is any more.

I recently downloaded the MicroEmacs program that was posted
in comp.binaries.ibm.pc When I un-arced the file containing
the executables PKXARC said that ME110.EXE failed a CRC check.
The rest of the files were fine and when I run MicroEmacs with
MEIBM.EXE everything seems to work fine.

My question:

Since I never plan to use MicroEmacs on a HP110, is it safe to ignore
the CRC error.

Thanks,

Yup. All the parts came in...I put them all together...PKARC
likes 'em just fine...(And I don't even have a C compiler!)

Now I'm NOT going to repost whole archives, but, as a public service,
if someone just needs a few files (crc check failed, whatever)
I'll arc 'em, uuencode 'em, & send em. I will not split encoded
files and I will not send shar format stuff (some of the text files
are small enough to send cleartext). People who need whole archives
may send me disks which I will fill and send back--contact me for
my address.

I want to help out, but I'm doing this on a small, slow system
through a 1200 baud noisy phone line. Try not to abuse this offer.
If my patience or time runs out that's it.

Hello peaps!,
Is there anyone out there (in the UK) who has the lastest MicroEmacs
(I think it is release 3.8i or simlar). Who would be able to give me
a copy on IBM 360K diskettes in both BINARY & SOURCE. I will send as
many diskettes as are required. I need to get this as soon as possible
as the machine I'm using only has edlin!

Please reply by either email or phone

Thank to anyone who can respond.

The response to my request for micro emacs for the PC was incredible.
My thanks to all who contacted me. I now have a copy up and running!

There are obviously a whole load of good people out there.

Thanks again.

Is microEmacs a text editor like Q-Edit or are they different kinds of
programs? I have recently looked at Q-Edit and it appears to be
pretty good. Is microEmacs better? Has anyone used both?

Could somebody out there post Microemacs (latest version) to the
net?

Thanx!

NO NO NO PLEASE NO ONE ELSE POST THIS! We are trying to keep from
having to many angry sites about multiple 28 part postings. The latest
version of MicroEMACS (which is 3.9e) was posted in comp.sources.misc in
October. The next version, probably 3.10, will be sometime this summer.
In the interim, developmental versions can be downloaded from my BBS but
PLEASE DO NOT POST THEM.

Hello world!

I was wondering if anyone out there had:

(a)	Source for MicroEMACS. As I understand it, it is in C.
(b)	Documentation for MicroEMACS.

And would be willing to share it with me?

Please e-mail me BEFORE you send it (I don't think that sending
along the same thing many times across UUCP lines would make the
people who pay for these links very happy).

Thanks,

Hello world!

A couple of weeks ago I requested the sources and documentation for
MicroEmacs 3.9e. I wish to thank all of you who responded, especially
tim@pilchuck who sent them over here via uucp.

As such, I am posting this article to let all of you know that I no
longer have any need for the sources requested, since I now have them.

Thanks again,
