I need help in implementing some primative graphics on MS-DOS machines. I am porting ecological simulation software to a number of different micros, and plotting the results is an important part of the package. Neatness is not too important -- I have written standard transportable routines that only require that I know how to draw a line, clear the screen, and perhaps put a string at a particular location. But I don't use MS-DOS, and have only infrequent access to one with a suitable range of compilers. If anyone can provide the basic routines (preferably PD, as this package is distributed free and I have no budget for purchasing software for a machine I don't have), it would be a blessing. The language I use is Fortran-77 and I need to be able to call the routines from Lahey and/or MicroSoft 4.0 compilers. I have access to C compilers and assemblers as well. All I need are routines to clear the screen, draw lines, and place text. I understand that I also need a routine to determine the system configuration. The rest can be done in Fortran I think. I know enough about other languages so that I could translate C, Pascal, etc. From MS-DOS I know nothing, although I have some gurus around (but they know nothing about graphics!). Please reply by email, as I don't normally subscribe to this group (although I will try to check it regularly in case you try to reach me and can't reach the address below).
