Here's a cheapie typesetting/graphics/publishing package that's so good it's unbelieveable: Typesetter-PC, $79.95 available from: Xlent Software P.O. Box 847 Springfield, Va. 22150 703 569-8881 This package seems to actually be what Fontasy OUGHT to be. It comes with a number of bit fonts in different sizes and one stroked font which may be adjusted for size, angle etc. The chief feature of Typesetter-PC is the quality of it's output from ordinary cheap Epson compatible printers with the quad density print capability (fx compatible). There's damned near nothing to chose from between what this package produces from cheap printers and laser output. Fontasy has had a quad-density option, but it was not as well thought out and never looked as good. I would rate Typesetter-PC's graphics interface as among the two best I've seen in the DOS world for generating ordinary graphics (with mouse), and the package has a capture mechanism for incorporating images generated from other sources. The shift from text to graphics mode is cleaner than either Fontasy or DrHalo, and text can be erased with back-spacing more readily than in other pixel-oriented packages I've seen. Numerous font and icon disks are available ($15), including European alphabets with diacritical marks as well as a fairly good set of Cyrillic fonts in different sizes. The present version works in CGA (640x200) resolution on cga or ega systems, and EGA and Metheus versions are due shortly. Ted Holden HTE
