Recently, a program called QVT was posted to the net by pmjc@ur-tut.UUCP (Pam Arnold). Actually, two versions were posted. The first two-parter had posting dates of: 13 Feb 88 02:58:03 GMT and 13 Feb 88 03:01:17 GMT. The second two-parter had posting dates of: 13 Feb 88 18:03:19 GMT and 13 Feb 88 18:05:34 GMT. The first posting yielded an ARC file as follows: Name Length Stowage SF Size now Date Time CRC ============ ======== ======== ==== ======== ========= ====== ==== DEFAULT.VT 159 Crunched 15% 136 11 Feb 88 7:49p 3d3d QVT.HLP 11981 Crunched 53% 5678 10 Feb 88 5:22p 8e5b QVT_PC.EXE 96161 Crunched 34% 63540 11 Feb 88 9:10p 8133 READ.ME 6172 Crunched 44% 3464 30 Jan 88 11:06a e689 ==== ======== ==== ======== Total 4 114473 37% 72818 The second posting yielded an ARC file exactly the same, except for: QVT_PC.EXE 96251 Crunched 35% 63280 13 Feb 88 9:14a c730 Total 4 114563 37% 72558 What's the story? Is the latter one a new version? Is the latter one a forged trojan? I saw no explanation for the new version so "hot on the heels" of the other posting. I don't think there was any explanation in any of the postings. I tried asking via mail, but never got a reply. Thanks. -- Ron Heiby, heiby@mcdchg.UUCP Moderator: comp.newprod & comp.unix "I believe in the Tooth Fairy." "I believe in Santa Claus." "I believe in the future of the Space Program."
