I recently moved my AT compatible's box to a more enclosed shelf so I'm now concerned about overheating the thing. The temperature on the box surface had been 75 F (+-2) but in its new nest it has climbed to 86 F (+-2). Does anyone have any experience with operating in this latter heat environment or know the safe temperature range? When do parts begin to get dicey, fail and reach critical mass? Inside the box (a Commodore PC40, West German made): Award BIOS 80286, 10 mhz, 0 wait (SI 9.7) 1 Meg Ram 1.2 Meg floppy 360 k floppy 20 Meg "mini" HD (SI 3) 1 serial, 1 parallel port 1200 bps modem AGA card Thanks, Rob [Also, a belated thanks to those who responded to my January query about 80286s and O/S 2. All were useful comments and observations; as you can see I bought the 80286 machine.] _________________________________________________________________ robert4@garfield.UUCP R.D.
