Shortly after posting the MS-DOS version of Rogue-clone I got a letter saying that Rogue-clone doesn't look in the directory \ETC for the TERMCAP file by default like the MS-DOS version of Nethack does. Instead it looks file a file called "termcap" in the current directory. Since I use DPATH and store a lot of commonly used files in a \LIB directory, I didn't think of making Nethack's fairly standard approach the default. However, there's an easy fix--if you set the environment variable TERMCAP to the pathname of your termcap file, Rogue-clone will look there. For those of you who use \ETC to put termcap in, put set TERMCAP=\etc\termcap in your AUTOEXEC.BAT and Rogue-clone will use your copy of the file stored there. -- Steve VanDevender uoregon!drizzle!stevev stevev@oregon1.BITNET "Bipedalism--an unrecognized disease affecting over 99% of the population.
