I have a question about using Kermit on Procomm, Ver. 2.4.2. When you bringup the setup menu (Alt-S) and then the Kermit Setup Menu (3), it shows that you can declare a pad character (option 3) and the number of pad characters (option 4). My question is this: if you set the number of pad characters to be greater than zero, what does this mean? Is the Procomm Kermit then going to place pad characters on outgoing packets \AND/ expect pad characters on incoming packets? Or is it just one or the other? I have a copy of MS-DOS Kermit Ver. 2.30 and I can set one or the other by using SET SENT PADDING x or SET RECEIVE PADDING x where x is the number of pad characters. But what is set when you specify pad characters in Procomm Kermit? I would appreciate any input whatsoever. Please do not suggest the Procomm BBS as a place to find out. I am hoping people on the net can answer my question quicker and more clearly. Thanks in advance to anyone that gives this some effort. John McDaid John.McDaid@SanDiego.NCR.COM
