I've modified the Beach Ball phong shading demo program listed in the March '88 issue of Byte to run under MSC-5.0 with calls to a VMI-IM640 graphics board. I'm not sure how many IM640 users there are, but then again, someone may find the source useful. I'll be glad to e-mail the modified source to any who ask (or post it if there are enough inquiries). I would be interested in getting a line from those of you who are IM640 users -- both to glean some expertise and to share a few bug warnings. As an aside, the ball rendered very nicely (using 60 shades each of blue, light blue, red, and magenta), and rapidly. As to the latter, it's difficult to say how much speed increase was due to the VMI board and how much should be attributed to the host (a Compaq 386/20 with 20Mhz 80387). -- Dave -- ==================================================================== ARPA: agv@s.cc.purdue.edu | USPS: Purdue University Computing Center UUCP: cc.purdue.edu!agv | Math Sciences Building BITNET: murrell@purccvm | West Lafayette, IN. 47906
