Hello out there netland. I have a question on the 'compatability' of the compatables. Information: We are currently using a feature of the IBM BIOS which allows developers the ability to insert ROMS into the system board (those 2 empty slots) and have them recognized by the IBM BIOS. We are using this ability to have the PC invoke a small program that is located in these ROMs to disable the A drive and the keyboard until our program is allowed to run. Our program then enables the disk and keyboard interrupts. The ability to get the BIOS to recognize the ROMs is described in the PC AT Tech Ref. page 5-12. Question: Are there any PC/AT types that allow you to perform the 'BIOS extension' that we are doing with the AT? If so how, does one make the BIOS recognize the new ROMS. Tim Williams
