In an earlier posting, I inquired if anyone had had problems with BORLAND's Make provided with Turbo Pascal 4.0. I received a couple letters, and tried their suggestions like invoking shells and checking memory, but Make wouldn't even execute COMMAND!!!. So, I did some foling around with it, and gave up. Then it hit me, "Hey, they put Make in with Turbo C 1.0!!!", so I got out my files, copied Make onto my work area, and IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!! Now I know Make is generic, I didn't just fall off the boat, but it is odd. Fact: TC's Make is 1.0 Fact: TP4.0 is 1.3 Fact: Both say that even though I have 640 K, it only finds 15XXX available. Question: Shouldn't programs get better with higher version numbers, not worse? If anyone with TP4.0 has Make 1.3, and it works with their demo GRLINK.MAK, PLEASE mail me. I am calling BORLAND tomorrow, but don't have much hope of getting anything meaningful out of the conversation. It sort of bothers me that I should pay for a package that doesn't do what it says. Luckily I have TC1.0, others might not be that lucky! -- Roy Shepard (Down and out in Wolfville, Nova Scotia) Organization: School of Computer Science, Acadia Univ., Nova Scotia UUCP:{uunet|watmath|utai|garfield}dalcs!aucs!840411S BITNET:840411s@Acadia

(Actually, we would all be better off using NDMAKE or something that works like MAKE should.)
