[comp.sys.ibm.pc] A few OS/2 questions and problems.

Is there a chance that this newsgroup can be split into two? Possibly,
segregating the "news" from "technical". Also, is there a group for
OS/2?

---

I have OS/2 running on a PS/2 60. I have some problems and questions.

1. In the DOS window I cannot get Kermit 2.3 to work. I get a message that
comm port one is in use. 2.29 works fine.

2. When I try to shell from many programs in the DOS window I get wrong version
   of DOS errors.

3. Often, when leaving an application in the DOS window, QuickC especially,
the system halts because it says that command.com is invalid.

4. Any pointers on good ways to port existing DOS applications over to OS/2
would be nice. I can go thru tham and change all the BIOS INTS to OS/2 calls
and grind it out. But, it would be nice to hear from someone that has dealt
with ported chip-level communications code and graphics programs over. Has
anyone written a monitor, or work with programs that run in the lower levels?

Thanks.
