[comp.sys.ibm.pc] printer recommendations

If ya'all were going to buy a printer for the pc, what would you get?
I think I'm after dot matrix but I must admit I don't really know whats
out there except those and laser printers. It should be nice and
cheap, like under $500. Thanks in advance.

I _love_ my NEC P2200 (a 24-pin matrix printer with a variety of
built in fonts). List price for these is $495, street price as
low as $350. It will do normal Epson-style graphics (but the
print is lighter) in addition to high resolution 25-pin graphics.
It has parallel and serial interfaces, will move tractor feed
paper in either push or pull mode, and can feed single sheets
without removing the tractor feed paper. I made my father buy
one for his law office too. He has almost retired his Diable 630
as a result.
