[comp.sys.ibm.pc] FANSI-Console lockup problem

I have been using fansi-console recently as a terminal when dialing in,
(so that I can use reverse or bold video instead of closing the
blinds) and have gotten it wedged several times in such a way that it
required rebooting.

Does any one know what causes this? Is there a 'hot-key' to reset
FANSI-Console without rebooting when it gets wedged, or is this an
unfixable bug?

Note - the problem occurs when using the ^P command in emacs or tcsh.
Instead of having the previous line(s) shift onto the screen (or
replace the current line in tcsh) the console just gets wedged and I
have to reboot. Thank god my modem doesn't hang up when I do that.

ps - I guess people should reply by email. If any of the suggestions
are interesting, useful, or funny I will summarize.
