...on a local BBS, someone posted a warning concerning MIcrosoft's Quick Basic. Apparantly MSQB has some sort of problem when it's being run on a system using an optical mouse. The problem occurs when a compile is being done on a program, and the mouse is moved in any way. This, for some reason, causes the compiler to link into QB.EXE and corrupt it, thus rendering it unusable. ...Would anyone from Microsoft care to comment on this? We're a little concerned about this down here because the person who posted this is not of a reputable status, and there is some suspicion that this is some sort of a hoax. Then again, none of us who have QB have an Optimouse either, so we can't test this to be certain. OM Discalmer: ok, so if this is a hoax, I have this Apple IV for sale...

[deleted stuff about one isolated caution posted on some BBS about Qbasic crashing with an optical mouse] Did the warning mention which version of Qbasic was allegedly involved. They are up to QB version 4.0. Michael Volow, M.D. Dept of Psychiatry, Durham VA Medical Center, Durham, N.C. 27705 919 286 0411 mvolo@ecsvax.UUCP
