We are developing a user console type of product for our digital loop carrier. As part of that activity, we have a need to maintain a data base of information, which can be used to produce a variety of reports, some of them at the whim of the user. We are considering a couple of different approaches: 1) produce dBASE III format files using dBC from Lattice, use Clipper to produce standard report executables, and thus allow the user to produce his own specialized reports with dBASE III, or; 2) using Informix ESQL/C to produce the data base, and the associated Informix product for specialized reports. I would be curious to hear from anyone who has used any of these products about reliability, buginess, quality of technical support. Clayton E. Cramer ..hplabs!pyramid!kontron!optilin!cramer
