[comp.sys.ibm.pc] How do you write to STDOUT with DOS calls

lane@dalcs.UUCP (John Wright/Dr. Pat Lane) (04/12/88)

In a short assembler program I wrote recently, I wanted to write a string
to the standard output so that file re-direction would work. I'm using a
single interrupt hex 21 call with function code hex 40 and file handle 1.
Is that OK? Is that the best way to do it? I'm wondering because my pgm
works fine on my system but hangs on a friend's (we both use DOS 3.20).
Respond my mail please and thanks for any help.
