[comp.sys.ibm.pc] ...now it's time for STUPID HARD DISK TRICKS!!!!

...ok, here's my entry for dumb net question of the month:

...I'm currently using a miniscribe 30-meg HD with a Tandem controller. I
have access to either a 20 or a 10-meg HD sans controller (Miniscribe and
IBM makes, respectively), and what I want to know is can you mis-balance
twin HD's? Can you have a 20 and a 30 on the same controller card?

...any help would be appreciated. I'll even accept flames on this one...

Discalmer: Remember, there's still time to get in your responses to last
	   month's dumb query winner:

"Is there some way to have remotes summon the system time and date
from the server using an OLD IBM PC Network, under release 1.0?"

...the Dumb Question of the week contest: brought to you by SNAFU. Snafu, we're
trying to put humor back into the computer industry by getting Bill Gates
replaced by Bozo The Clown...

Sure, you just have to tell the controller about which is which. We
have both 20 and 72 Mb drives on our AT; we merely had to tell the
SETUP program which drive types they were.

Exactly how you do this is related to what kind of PC/controller you
have -- consult your manual for more specific information on your
machine and controller.
