I downloaded PKARC12 from .binaries.ibm.pc a while back and am a bit confused. I had heard that the PKARC package was not one but a set of programs for file compression, etc. This arc file has just a single PKARC12 executable. Is this the same program as I'd heard about, or just one of them, or something COMPLETELY diferent? -- amlovell@phoenix.princeton.edu ...since 1963. disclaimer: These are MY opinions. I was the one who posted PKARC12.ARC. The description I wrote in the posting explained that this was only the ARC maker (and its documentation) and that the reason it was being posted was that it was the last version of PKARC before squashing was added. It consistantly makes smaller ARCs than PKARC35 when the latter's -oc (compatibility mode) switch is used. The latest official version of PKARC/PKXARC is PKX35A35.EXE, which has been posted many times to comp.binaries.ibm.pc. I use PKXARC 3.5 for extracting files and PKARC 1.2 for making the compatible ARCs which I upload to the archives at SIMTEL20. -- Keith Petersen Arpa: W8SDZ@SIMTEL20.ARPA Uucp: {bellcore,decwrl,harvard,lll-crg,ucbvax,uw-beaver}!simtel20.arpa!w8sdz GEnie: W8SDZ
