Several MS-DOS / AT problems. 1. Has anyone ever got the Windows 1.03 modem program to actually dial a number? I have a true-blue IBM system & card, with a USR modem, and Windows just will *not* dial on it, all though if I type the control codes myself, it works fine. I've tried about every combination of options. 2. I recently tried to install Windows 2.00, and it won't talk to my laser printer. I have a Tandy 2000, which works (with a bit of fudging) under 1.03. I wrote a device driver to find out what's wrong, and it seem that Windows at some point simply gives up calling the driver, even though it hasn't returned an error code. The main bad interaction is with PageMaker. I've tried re-installing everything, to no avail. Any clues? 3. I gave up on 2.0 and PageMaker and switched to Word 4.0. My problem now is that Word doesn't do superscripts right if you are using a large (24 pt.) font. It moves up the same amount as for a 12 pt. I hacked the PRD file to take care of it in this case, but that means I'll have to have a sepoerate PRD for every size font I want to use. There must be a better way. Am I missing something? (I'm not a Word expert, so it might be that I am just looking in the wrong place). Any help would be appreciated, either posted or in e-mail. Alan M.
