Does anyone know how to wire wrap plugs for testing the RS232 and parallel ports on IBM-PC systems? Any and all pointers to sources of this information or diagrams greatly appreciated. From AST Research's "SixPakPlus" User's Manual, ver 1.0, June, 1983 under Section 3.4 (Diagnostic Testing of the Serial Port): "to build this wrap plug, you will need a female DB25 connector, such as a Winchester Electronics P/N 49-1125S. Jumper together the following pins on the connector: Pin 2 to Pin 3 (TX to RX) Pin 4 to Pin 5 & 22 (RTS to CTS & RI) Pin 20 to Pins 6 & 8 (DTR to DSR & DCD) Certain versions of the IBM diagnostics may fail on the first pass. You should therefore ignore the results of the first pass if an error occurs." I myself have not tried this since I have a wrap plug (loop back module) which I bought from: SYZYGY 256 West San Bernardino Road Covina,Ca. 91723 (213)332-3320.
