Kent Williams, author of the public domain PC-SHELL,
announces the availability of:
PC-CSH
A faithful implementation of the Berkeley Unix C Shell
for MS-DOS. All commands and features applicable to
MSDOS are implemented.
This new command processor is not a rewrite of PC-SHELL
-- it has been developed from the ground up, using the
BSD documentation as a specification. The excellent
book "Unix C Shell Field Guide" (Anderson & Anderson,
Prentiss-Hall ISBN 0-13-937468-X) was also used to clear
up ambiguities.
In addition to the usual history facility, a command
line editor is built in. Previous commands can be
recalled and edited using the PC cursor keys.
Full looping, conditional, and expression constructs are
supported. Can be used as the default command processor
under DOS 3.X or later.
Compatible with all PC Software, including TSR's,
spoolers, etc. Uses approximately 58K of memory,
depending upon circumstances. Memory allocated
temporarily (for globbing file-names, buffing scripts,
etc.) is returned to DOS free memory when it is no
longer needed.
