I replaced the high density 5.25" drive in an IBM AT-3270 with a
3.5" 1.44 m drive. We wanted to maintain the 360K drive, but
be able to interchange disks with a PS-2 model 80. By loading
driver.sys with the following parameters, I can read 1.44 m and
720 k diskettes:
device=driver.sys /d:0 /t:80 /h:2 /s:18
I can only format 1.2 m disks on the 3.5" drive as drive a: When
I attempt to format disk e: (the virtual disk which is drive a:
with the above parameters), I get a "parameter error" message.
What do I have to do to be able to format the diskettes as
720 K and 1.44 m? Is it possible to boot from the 3.5"
drive? How do I get that to work?
