I looked on John Baldry's album "It Ain't Easy" and found that:

"Don't Try to Lay no Boogie Woogie on the King of Rock and Roll"
 was written by Jeff Thomas;

 and recorded by "Long" John Baldry (singer), Ron Wood, etc,
 produced by Rod Stewart January or February 1971;

 and released on the album "It Ain't Easy", John Baldry,
 Warner WS1921
