A secretary I know accidentally reformatted her hard disk yesterday. The last time she backed up her files was in December and she did not have the Norton FAT save utility on her system. (Talk about ruining a weekend!) Can anyone tell me if all is lost, or is there a way to recover her files? We are able to see some files and directories on C: when we boot from A: (e.g., I can list autoexec.bat), but Norton Utilities show the whole disk as free space. I used BACKIT to save what we could and got about 6 meg of stuff, but it all appears to be the program files we can get back from master disks anyway. The subdirectories where the data files were kept seem to be corrupted. If recovery is simply undoable, we will just rebuild her disk and let her get on with trying to redraw all the slides, etc., but if something can be done, we can continue looking for someone expert enough to help (with 4,000+ people on site, we should be able to find SOMEONE!). Anyone out there knowledgable enough to give some advice? It sure would be appreciated! Thanks in advance. John Hardin hardin%hpindda@hplabs.hp.com --------------
