[comp.sys.ibm.pc] HOW TO USE A 5.25" DISK AS BOOTABLE ON PS/2?

ccastsc@pyr.gatech.EDU (KEITH SCHAMIS) (05/05/88)

I have a model 80 on my desk with a 5.25" external drive as the B: drive.
My problem is this: A piece of software that I had for my old XT is the
kind that needs to be booted(you cannot run it from DOS).

Is there any way to make the system think that the 5.25" is the A: drive
so that it will boot off of the external drive? I have tried switching
the drive controller cards(plug the external into the A: drive and vice-
versa)--it didn't work.

Can I use my old software?

Thanks in advance

Keith
