[comp.sys.ibm.pc] EGA/VGA books clarification

Usenetters:

I feel that I should clarify a minor point in an earlier posting I made about
graphics cards (BTW, the response has been underwhelming - one!
I guess that high traffic newsgroups generate less response).

I mentioned two books on programming the EGA/VGA boards (R. Wilton's
Programmer's Guide to PC & PS/2 Video Systems and B. Kliewer's EGA/VGA A
Programmer's Reference Guide). My comment was that the former (Wilton's)
was "far superior" to the second. This was an inadvertent exaggeration. I
do believe that overall Wilton's book is better (but you have to buy
the disk - the listings are in light green!), but there is useful material
in Kliewer's that is not in Wilton's. The bottom line is, I kept both
books.

I have no relationship with either author or their publishers.
