You need to check the age of the drive. I have an old 1140, built before the 2190 came out. It has 918 cylinders and that is all it has. I have tried to format even 919 and It runs up against the stop and I get errors. For current drives I suspect this is correct, but, there are many of the older ones out there that are exactly what they advertise. However, Maxstor states that this older version cannot do RLL, mine works fine on an adaptec RLL controller. -- ===================================================================== Sydney S.
