****************************************************************************** ATTENTION BORLAND TURBO C and TURBO PASCAL USERS ****************************************************************************** As you know, the newest revisions of Turbo C (1.5) and Pascal (4.0) use a device independent graphics method which uses a set of device dependent Basic Graphics Interface files xxxxxxx.BGI, where xxxxxxx is unique to the particular graphics device. CGA, EGAVGA, ATT, HERC, PC3270 are currently supported. The format for these files is currently proprietary. The language reference manual does not shed much light on these files. After waiting since October for the Developers Kit, which includes the Graphics ToolBox, the package finally arrived. The info for these files is not included here either. I placed a call to Borland to inquire about these files, and how to generate my own for devices not supported by Borland, and was told that the information was proprietary, and not available for distribution. The man I talked to, Keith, said the list of names on the petition to have this data released is about 600 or 700 names long, and I had my name added to the petition. The only other thing they had a bigger response to, is from people who want to see the new Pascal compiler support overlays. If you want to see more devices supported the action to take is to call or write Borland and request the info, and have yourself added to the list. Borland's order number is (800) 543-7543 the General business number is (408) 438-8400 Product Tech Support is (408) 438-5300 this is where I called. the address is Borland International 4585 Scotts Valley Drive Scotts Valley, CA 95066 CALL OR WRITE TODAY!!!!!
