Perhaps, but without this, what would the flamers do?  :-)

My statement *was* somewhat excessive.  But I don't know of a single machine
running the peripheral bus faster than 12MHz.

Glad to hear they test OK.  Were they *designed* for those speeds though?
I have little enthusiasm for "getting lucky".

The majority of peripherals I've worked with are designed for 8MHz, and
generally work at 10MHz, but not 12MHz.  The very fast machines I know of
(Compaq 386/20, PCs Ltd 386/20) run the peripheral bus much slower than
20MHz.  I'd be interested in hearing of any that do attempt a 20MHz
peripheral bus.
