I have two old applications, one written in Basic, one in COBOL. I'd like to make both applications call C routines, but so far I'm not having much luck. I'm using IBM compiled Basic, RM/COBOL-85, and Lattice C, but would be willing to try a different C compiler. Has anyone had any luck with such an endeavor? When I have a Basic routine call C, the system hangs. The same test with COBOL produces an out of memory error. In both cases there are no parameters involved (although I will need to pass parameters eventually), and the C routine is an empty stub. Any advice would be appreciated! Please email responses.
