In the past, there hasn't been much in the way of clear cut price choices or obvious bargains in the various printer categories. The 24 pin market seems to be an exception. The Alps 224 with the color option is being sold for slightly over $500 with tractor feed at MidWest and one or two other places, at least a couple of hundred dollars differential from the nearest competitor. I finally broke down and got myself one of these from MidWest a couple of months ago (I got tired of looking at black and white), and it works fine. Ted Holden HTE
